Raymond Edward Fairley, 80, of Evans, La, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Overton Brooks VA Hospital in Shreveport, La.  Visitation will be Thursday, June 5, 2014, starting at 3pm and continuing until time of service at Galilee Baptist Church.  Funeral service will be Friday, June 6, at 1pm at the church.  Interment will be at Evans Community Cemetery.  Rev. George Jeane and Rev. Clint Hines will officiate. Raymond is survived by his wife, Merle S. Fairley of Evans; two daughters, Greta Jean Fairley of Bossier City, and Annice Ray Fairley & Scott Gilchrist of Haymarket, VA; twelve grandchildren, Carrie Sunset Arrington & Michael, J. Adam Bass & Britney, Cori Raylene Baril & Jason, Amberleigh Anne Smith & Richard, Ethan Jude Fairley DeMatteo, Christopher Wehrle & Laura, Garrett Fairley Dison, Grayson Fairley Dison, Amanda Emily Hutton, Rachel Melanie Hutton, Andrew Fairley Bass, and Cassie Mae Cassario; eight great-grandchildren, Kayla Marie Arrington, Karsyn Elizabeth Arrington, Christian Bryce Eguia, Baylor Susan Bass, Barrington “Bear” Adam Bass, Claire Kennedy Eguia, Beckett Raymond Bass, and Braxley Richard Smith; three sisters, Mae Ola Parker of Livingston, TX, Joy J. Booth & Douglas of Kirbyville, TX, and Mary Etta DuBose & Jim of Bon Wier, TX; brother, Josh Youngblood & Fleta of Kirbyville, TX; and five sons-in-law, Anthony DeMatteo, Allen Bass, Kirby Dison, Tim Cassario, and Fred Ruedinger. Raymond is preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Alice Jarrell Fairley; and his daughter, Katrina Ann Fairley DeMatteo.
