Betty Ruth Cooley

Betty Ruth Cooley, 80, of Pitkin, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in Alexandria.  Visitation will be Thursday, May 28, from 4-9pm at Chaddick Funeral Home, and Friday, May 29, from 10am until time of service at Simmons Mill Pentecostal Church.  Funeral service will be Friday, May 29 at 1pm at the church.  Interment will be at Black Jack Cemetery.  Rev. Tim Whistine, Rev. Clyde Dowden, and Rev. Ken Gibson will officiate. Betty is survived by her daughter, Peggy Nolen Hudson & Bob of Pitkin; son, Andy Cooley of Alexandria; brother, Ronnie Swilley & Cecila of Ashdown, AR; four sisters, Patsy Michel of Marrero, LA, Shirley Hickman & Hardy of Merryville, Lillie Craft of DeRidder, and Vicky Brooks of Merryville; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Cooley of Pitkin; six grandchildren, Jamey Chandler of Pitkin, Daphne Nolen-Kingan & Kevin of Pitkin, Jeffery Cooley of Pitkin, Amanda Allemand & Byron of Meraux, LA, Jenna Lambright & Randal of Pitkin, and Trey Cooley of DeRidder; and eight great-grandchildren, Bryn Chandler, Sierra Allemand, Bailey Kingan, Lakyn Cooley, Blake Allemand, Ryleigh Nolen, Kaleb Kingan, and Kyler Kingan. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey F. & Minnie Mae Swilley; husband, Auther J. Cooley; sons, Michael and Clyde Cooley; and brothers, Ricky, Donald, and Charles Swilley.
