Cynthia Rose Woodard

With humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing of our precious Mother, Cynthia Rose Woodard. Cynthia was born on October 5, 1956 to Ruby Agnes Valenzuela in DeRidder, LA. After many years of struggling with her health, she peacefully went to Glory while being held and comforted by her beloved daughter, Amanda.  She passed from this life in Lake Charles, LA on March 22, 2024. She was 67 years young. Cynthia was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 34 years, Gerald Woodard.  They have been apart these past 16 years, during which time she has not loved another. Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Amanda Woodard and Allen Terrell of DeRidder, LA, Jerry and Kelly Woodard of Winnfield, LA, Todd and Brooke Woodard of Lumberton, TX, and Marc Woodard and Heather Penetac of DeRidder, LA; sisters: Brenda, Vicky, Darlene, and Mary; twelve grandchildren, one great grandchild; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Mama’s joy was raising her four children and taking care of everyone around her.  She was happiest in her kitchen, cooking a meal big enough to feed anyone who was hungry.  Her happiness came from within.  While serving Jesus, and when her health allowed it, she worshiped the Lord along with her church family at Apostolic Remnant Church. We take comfort in knowing you are holding the hands of Daddy and Saylor, finally in paradise. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 26 from 2-5pm at Chaddick Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 26 at 5pm at Chaddick Funeral Home.  Rev. John Davis will officiate.
