Darlyne Chaddick Midkiff

D Darlyne was born in Port Arthur, Texas to Tillman and Jewel Chaddick. Later, the family moved back to Cottonwood, Louisiana where she spent her formative years and graduated high school. She married the love of her life, Hubert Elwyne Midkiff and they had one daughter together, Cindy. Darlyne spent 39 years in banking and retired as the general branch manager at the First National Bank of Lake Charles. Since the branch was located in Prien Lake Mall, she became a very familiar face in Lake Charles. She loved being among the people. Darlyne had multiple hobbies including quilting, sewing, cross stitching, and working in her garden. She handmade beautiful baby dresses, Halloween costumes, and other clothing for her granddaughters. After retirement, she was lucky to be able to spend more time doing what she loved, including making quilts for new members of the family. Family was the most important part of her life. She loved spending time with her granddaughters and her great grandson, always thinking of others before herself and of course, always having everyone’s favorite snacks and fresh cookies on hand. Darlyne is survived by her daughter, Cindy Clark & Bob of Lake Charles, LA; two granddaughters, Tiffany L. Saxby of New York, New York and Taryn E. Ford of Lake Charles, LA; one great-grandson, Chandler M. Malloy (her sweet, sweet baby) of Lake Charles, LA; three sisters, Sybil Newton of Tallahassee, FL, Fern Miller & Buck of Houston, TX, and Glenda Stewart of DeRidder, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert E. Midkiff; parents, Tillman & Jewel Chaddick; and two brothers, Edward D. Chaddick and John Dae Chaddick.
