Francis “Fran” Mooneyham

Francis (Fran) Riles Mooneyham, 76, of DeRidder, La, passed away peacefully on Oct. 3, 2014 at the home of her niece, Robin and husband Dana Hall. Her sister, Dorothy, and Robin were by her side. Fran retired from Shirley Hills Elementary in Warner Robins, Georgia after teaching for 32 years.  After retiring, she was active in her church, playing the piano, organ and conducting grief management sessions.  She was an avid bowler. She graduated from Bastrop High School. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Louisiana College in Pineville, Louisiana and then went on to earn her Master’s Degree from New Orleans Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana. Preceded in death by her husband, Lester Mooneyham of 27 years; parents, Lavell and Ossie Riles; brother, James Allen Riles; and sister, Helen Carol Riles. Fran is survived by her sister, Dorothy and husband Jerry Schaller of DeRidder, Louisiana;  sister, Joy and husband Boyce Copeland of Bastrop, Louisiana; brother, W. T. Riles of Bastrop, Louisiana; and stepson, Ritchie and wife Karen Mooneyham of Dublin, Georgia; and a host of nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. with visitation at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, in the Chapel of Bonaire UMC, 221 Church St., Bonaire, GA 31005.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home, 7200 Desiard St., Monroe, Louisiana 71203.
