Gennive Simmons

Gennive Simmons, 99, of Mittie, LA, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019 in Oakdale, LA.  Visitation will be Monday, September 23 from 5-9pm at Cherry Grove Baptist Church located at 172 Cherry Grove Rd. Dry Creek, LA 70637.  Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 24 at 10am at Cherry Grove Baptist Church.  Interment will be at Simmons Cemetery.  Rev. Ron Butler and Rev. Jerry Hext will officiate. Gennive is survived by her two daughters, Jeanette Daniels of Houston, TX and Lane Young of Mittie, LA; three sons, Dellano Simmons & Donita of Vidor, TX, Herman Simmons & Kay of Gray, TN and Craig Simmons & Sheila of Dry Creek, LA; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
