George “Shorty” Alexander Crain

George “Shorty” Alexander Crain, 95, of DeRidder, LA passed away Friday, December 30, 2022.  Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4 from 5-7pm and Thursday, January 5 from 9am-11am at Chaddick Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be Thursday, January 5 at 11am at Chaddick Funeral Home.  Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Rev. Tim Bergen will officiate. George is survived by his wife of 73 years, Anne Crain of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Lisa Schoening & Chip of Billings, MT; two sons, Michael Crain & Carolyn of DeRidder, LA and Steven Crain & Michele of DeRidder, LA; eight grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda Tritten & Chuck of Nashville, TN; brother, Ricky Crain of Nashville, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Sam Crain; mother, Sally Crain; two sisters, June Carnal and Peggy Everett; brother, Billy Crain; and great-granddaughter, Angela Vidrine. The family would like to invite everyone to a continuation of the Celebration of Life for Mr. George at the VFW Post #3619 following the service on Thursday, January 5.
