Linda Sue Kyle entered this earthly life on September 2, 1951 in DeRidder, Louisiana. She was the second of three children born to parents Woodie and Ophelia Kyle. On September 17, 2022 Linda left her earthly residence and went home to be with the Lord. She was 71 years old. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 1 at 12pm at Norris Memorial Church of God in Christ located at 501 E. North St. DeRidder, LA. Interment will be at North Merryville Community Cemetery. Pastor Maurice Bynum will officiate.
Linda was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School. It was after graduating from high school that she began a lifelong career as a servant. She was always willing to help in any capacity she could, whether it was caring for cousins when they were young or sitting with her Aunt Virginia whenever she got a call.
She looked after and cared for her brother Glenn until he relocated to Many, LA. Even after that, she made sure he had a place he could come to whenever he came to town. This caring relationship continued until his death. Linda also took care of her father Woodie for years until his death.
For over twenty years she worked at Sonic, where they considered her a faithful and dependable worker. You may at times have seen her walking to work. It was not because she couldn’t have called someone to get a ride; it was because she did not want to be a burden to anyone.
Linda never desired wealth or status in life. She always made due with whatever she had, never complaining. She was always generous with her time and whatever else she had. She did nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit; rather in humility she valued others above herself. She did not look at her own interest, but rather at the interest of others (Phil 2:3-4).
After she retired to take a much deserved rest, her son decided it was time someone took care of her. So he moved her to Georgia with his family. There she was able to dote on her grandchildren, put her feet up and let someone care for her for a change. There she remained; surrounded by the people she loved and who loved her, until the Lord took her home.
Those she left behind to mourn their loss is daughter, Valerie Kyle White and granddaughter, Cemille Patrice (Hagerstown, MD); son, Michael Kyle and wife Olivia; grandchildren, Cameron, Natalie and Raven (Dallas, GA); brother, Blann Kyle and wife Yvette (DeRidder, LA); uncle, Harold Gill (Merryville, LA); aunt, Virginia Gill Washington (Bel Air, MD); nephews, Derrick Kyle (DeRidder, LA) and Dr. Tyrone Kyle and wife Brittany (Greensboro, NC); great nephews, Caleb and Giovanti Kyle; cousins, Stephanie Clark and Evelyn McClinton who considered her more of a sister than a cousin; and a host of other cousins who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Woodie and Ophelia Kyle; brother, Glenn; and nephew, Blann Kyle Jr.
