Mabelle Credare Rathburn

Mabelle “Mamie” Credare Sensintaffar Rathburn, known as “Grandma Maybe” to her great-grandchildren, died April 4, 2017 at her residence. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Macon Rathburn; daughter-in-law, Jane Rathburn; grandchildren, Melinda West of Minden, LA, Ross Rathburn of DeRidder, LA, Richard Rathburn of Richland, MS, and Anna Carson of Tomball, TX; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mamie is preceded in death by her parents, Mabelle Good and James Elmer Sensintaffar; three sons, Robert, Lowell, and Richard; two brothers and two sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mamie graduated from DeRidder High School and SWLA and received her Masters +3 years from Northwestern.  She taught in schools around the world and in the DeRidder area.  She traveled around the world with Macon before settling down in the house she was born and married in after Macon’s retirement from the Air Force.
