Mary Louise Walker

Mary Louise Walker, 76, of Crowley, LA, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021.  Visitation will be Sunday, August 22 from 11am-1pm at Chaddick Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be Sunday, August 22 at 1pm at Chaddick Funeral Home.  Interment will be at Spikes Cemetery.  Rev. Vertis March, Jr. will officiate. As a young girl, Mary attended school in Bancroft and Basile, LA.  She then moved to Crowley, LA where she attended Ross High School.  Over the course of her life in Crowley, LA, she was married to Warren J. Walker Sr. and they had three children.  She later had another son. Mary was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, where she sang in the church choir for several years.  She dedicated 25+ years caring for the elderly in the healthcare field at Christian Villa Nursing Home in Crowley, LA. She will always be remembered for the loving, caring, strong, compassionate, and courageous woman she was. Mary is survived by her two daughters, Vanessa Ellis & Willie of Midlothian, VA and Janet Walker & James of Crowley, LA; two sons, Warren “Woody” Walker of MiWuk Village, CA and Lance Walker of Crowley, LA; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Alfred of Port Arthur, TX and Lena Dee Smith of Houston, TX; one brother, Alvin Eugene Smith of DeQuincy, LA; one aunt, Cloteal Spikes of DeRidder, LA; one uncle, Vertis March, Sr. & Brenda of DeRidder, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Houston & Mattie Smith; and her beloved siblings.
