Norris Allen Burgess

Norris Allen Burgess, 87, of DeRidder, LA passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024. Visitation will be Sunday, December 15 from 5-8pm at Temple Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be Monday, December 16 at 11am at Temple Baptist Church. Interment will be at Old Cypress Cemetery. Rev. Richard Gill and Rev. Frank Ott, Jr. will officiate. Norris is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Franklin & Ricky of DeRidder, LA; two grandsons, Sam Franklin & Bethany of Tuscaloosa, AL and Kyle Franklin of DeRidder, LA; one sister, Elizabeth Greer of Red Bluff, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Pat Burgess; parents, Robert & Doris Burgess; sister, Aleta Evans; and brothers, Lloyd Burgess, Carroll Burgess, Dean Burgess, Roger Burgess, Benny Burgess, and Wesley Eugene Burgess. Norris was a proud member of the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, and the VFW. He coached girls’ soccer, as well as Little Dribblers. He was also on a bowling team. He loved gardening, fishing, camping, woodworking, playing bingo, caring for his cats, travelling, and making the world’s best pancakes. Condolences can be made at chaddickfuneralhome.com.
