Otis Sam Spikes

Otis “Sam” Spikes, 91, of Merryville, LA passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023.  Visitation will be Saturday, March 11 from 9-11am at Norris Memorial C.O.G.I.C.  Funeral service will be Saturday, March 11 at 11am at Norris Memorial C.O.G.I.C.  Interment will be at Spikes Cemetery.  Rev. Wilfert Williams will officiate. Otis “Sam” Spikes was born the first child of Fred and Emma Spikes February 22, 1932 in Bancroft, LA.  He was raised most of his life in Bancroft, LA. Later in life he moved to California where he met and married Ly Ruth who preceded him in death in 2021. Sam enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and loved drinking his coffee. Sam leaves to cherish his memory, brothers, Chester “Bill” Spikes of DeRidder, LA, Roy Spikes of DeRidder, LA, and Elmer Spikes of Bancroft, LA; sisters, Azzie Lee Davis of DeRidder, LA, Ethel Spikes of DeRidder, LA, Alberta Lewis of DeRidder, LA, Roberta Tompkins of Houston, TX, and Hattie Moore & Alfred of Sacramento, CA; sister-in-law, Dorothy Spikes of DeRidder, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
