Scott Earl Thigpen

Scott Earl Thigpen, 55, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 in DeRidder, Louisiana.  Scott was born on February 17, 1969 in DeRidder, Louisiana to Royce and Sandra Thigpen.  Visitation will be Thursday, January 2 from 9am-11am at Chaddick Funeral Home.  Celebration of Life will be Thursday, January 2 at 11am at Chaddick Funeral Home.  Rev. Zale Lewis will officiate. Left to cherish his memory are his father, Royce and wife Debbie Thigpen of DeRidder, LA; son, Preston Thigpen of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Paige Thigpen of San Antonio, TX; granddaughter, Scarlet Thigpen; sister, Jodie Thigpen and Loretta May of DeRidder, LA; brother, Michael and Stacey Fusilier of New Mexico; nephew, Gavin of New Mexico; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Gayle Branham and step-father, Max Branham. Scott lived life boldly with an adventurous spirit and with a kind and generous heart full of love.  He was always seeking new experiences and challenges and his passion for exploration was contagious as he inspired us all to step out of our comfort zones.  He taught us to embrace life, to seek adventure and to cherish every moment.  Though his journey on this earth has ended his spirit of adventure will continue to be in our hearts. He loved the outdoors, bonfires, fishing and enjoying his family and friends.  He was an excellent carpenter.  He was in the Boy Scouts of America.  He had a kind and gentle heart and a love for animals.  There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone, the light remains.
