Sonya Lynn Ortego

Sonya Lynn Ortego, 28, of DeRidder, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at her home.  Visitation will be Monday, March 28, from 2pm until time of service at Smyrna Baptist Church.  Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 29, at 4pm at Smyrna.  Interment will be at Smyrna Cemetery.  Rev. Michael Howard will officiate. Sonya is survived by her fiancé, Matthew Jantzen of DeRidder;  mother, Sharon Kay Mahaffey Ortego of Sugartown; one brother, Ronald A. Ortego, Jr. & Annette of Sugartown; maternal grandmother, Patsy Fields of Leesville; two aunts, Sheila Mahaffey of Oretta, and Shannon Baggett of DeRidder; three uncles, Roger Mahaffey of Pitkin, Wayne Mahaffey & Staci of Natchitoches, and Michael Ortego of Basile; and a paternal grandmother, Audrey Ortego of Denham Springs. She is preceded in death by her father, Ronald Ortego, Sr.; maternal grandfather, Dorman Mahaffey; paternal grandparents, Edison & Greta Ortego; and cousin, Bryan Keith Baggett.
