Velma Lee Knight, 74, of DeRidder, LA, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in Lake Charles, LA.  Visitation will be Friday, July 6 from 9:30am until the time of service at Grace Church.  Funeral service will be Friday, July 6 at 11am at Grace Church.  Interment will be at Botley Cemetery.  Pastor Jeffery B. Knight and Rev. George Lee Glass will officiate. Velma is survived by four daughters, Rhonda Redd of Sacramento, CA, Kim Tucker & John of DeRidder, LA, Cynthia Rogers & Douglas of Killeen, TX, and Tarlene Cole of Houston, TX; two sons, James M. Knight & Jackie of Nashville, TN, and Rev. Jeffery B. Knight & Shelley of Suffolk, VA; special family friend, Rita Harris of Rosepine, LA; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ella B. Ross of Beaumont, TX, Ruby Jean Brown of Houston, TX, and Doris Ann Releford of Houston, TX; and nine brothers, Elzie Cole of Houston, TX, Clarence Cole of Oberlin, LA, Roy James Cole of Kinder, LA, Leslie Cole, Jr. & Gladys of Houston, TX, Landry Cole & Brenda of Lake Charles, LA, Lloyd Cole of Kinder, LA, Floyd Cole & Rosa of DeRidder, LA, Clinton Cole & Effie of Chesterfield, VA,and Lionel Cole & Sylvia of DeQuincy, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie & Ida Cole, Sr., her husband, James W. “Jack” Knight, her two daughters, Cheryl “DeeDee” Perkins and Tamesha Cole, one great-granddaughter, Rae’ Ella Scott, and six brothers.
